Oh the heat! Lou doesn’t do heat very well. And it was fairly busy for us too!! This time of year its mainly holiday parks and weddings including a lovely wedding in North London. Can someone turn the temperature down a little please !
First Saturday of the month found us in sunny Eastbourne for another ladies night and the views from the hotel were fabulous. The whole of the function room was encased with glass walls so you had uninterrupted views of the coastline and it was magical and so were our audience and was our highlight this month, however we did finish off the month back at our favourite venue in Peterborough.
Two bank holiday in May, we so we’re always busy bees, many small holiday parks over the month but nestled in between was a Ladies Night in Cambridge, what a lovely crowd they were too then back at one of our new venues in Waltham Cross.
Busy busy, starting on April Fool’s day in Hertfordshire for a large dinner dance, moving onto Ely Cambridgeshire for a private party and others in between, then back in North Norfolk on the last Saturday of the month for a huge shin dig!
Valentines month is always a popular dinner dance season and we were thrilled to be flying about again just about everywhere, culminating near Cromer on the very North Norfolk coast – bit damp though!
In to the New Year with a bang and January we are pleased to say has been fairly busy with a new venue in Waltham Cross and some old favourites in Cambridgeshire. Happy new year everyone.
We had a small gap in bookings, but then off with a vengeance, bookings in Essex, Suffolk, Cambridge, including a local event for a firm of solicitors and estate agents. The final gig of the year being at the George Hotel – see our photos and video footage of our new year’s eve revellers. Right that was it! Happy New Year to all our current, present future customers, hirers, events and venues. 2017 Bring It On! P.S. We are already booked for New Year’s Eve 2017 so if you want to see in 2019 with us, give us a call quick. T.T.F.N.
November 2016 Fairly busy time of year, but we are now in full throttle to prepare for the following month and onset of December. It’s also been unseasonably warm which doesn’t feel very festive.
October was a fairly busy month travelling from Maidstone,
up north to Coventry and finishing quite locally in Walton, just a few miles down the road.
September is sometimes a quite month, it’s difficult to guess, but we were sufficiently busy with several Masonic events as it’s their return from the summer break – Hello Holland-on-Sea Lodge.
One of our highlights of the month was a masquerade ball in Wroxall for the Panther Car Club. We too dressed up – see our photos.
We did have a spare weekend which we used wisely and are currently preparing for the C word – dare we say, Christmas.
The summer holidays were in full swing and we have been busy with usual resorts, parks etc.. however, August presented us with some extremely wet weather and on our last gig of the month, at a very large holiday park in Hunstanton, we had spent the afternoon setting up and everything looked lovely.
A few minutes later the heavens opened literally and the ceiling came down in the room we were to perform.
We did feel sorry for the camp, because it’s busiest weekend of the year came to an abrupt halt and all entertainment was cancelled.
On our journey home we found out it wasn’t just our gig that was cancelled, the whole of Norfolk was under a lot of water. It was an early night for us.
Another busy month travelling from Bournemouth to Felixstowe and beyond. The one gig that stands out a mile was Richard and Fiona’s wedding in beautiful Hertfordshire at their home in a Bedouin tent – we had so much fun and they had planned their day meticulously and it was perfect in every way.
They wrote to thank us and we’ve added their letter to our testimonials, go on take a look.
With Graham now recovered from last month’s injury, we were back with a bang and out every weekend, starting in Cambridge, then on to West Winch, then Peterborough and finishing in Kings Lynn for their Armed Forces event. Phew it has been hot too!
Unfortunately this month nearly saw us having to shut down for a while as Graham suffered a particularly nasty injury to his left hand and a few gigs had to be pulled last minute (thank you all for your understanding at this very stressful time), but we are more than relieved to say that Graham has recovered sufficiently to commence work again at the beginning of June – it was touch and go for a while and Graham has been very brave – he’ll gladly show you his battle scars if asked.
After a very busy March and Easter, we had a much needed weekend off to recuperate, but were soon back on the road performing in and around Cambridge for Cedars Park ladies night to name but one and finishing off the month at one of our favourite venues in the heart of Maidstone, who we are pleased to confirm we’ll see you all again in October. Gone are the April showers and now looking forward to May.
This year saw an early Easter and boy did we know it with four gigs in eight days, starting off with a Presidents Evening at a golf club in Sandy in Bedfordshire, we then nipped across the county border to Huntingon for the Mayors Civic ball, a few days break and then a local gig (blimey that doesn’t happen often) but then the next day an early start and we were off to Eastbourne which unfortunately clashed with the dreadful storm on the Easter Sunday/Monday and the journey was AWFUL – still that’s the life of touring musicians but we live to tell the tale
The month for romance and dinner dances, of which there were plenty, but you know where you were the naughtiest – dare we say Kings Lynn…..
Happy New year to one and all. We had a few weeks well-earned break at the beginning of the month. Thank you to The George at Colchester for trusting us with your new year and immediately rebooking and we look forward to seeing you all again in twelve months. We were very glad to see our Ladies again at the over 20’s Club for their annual dinner dance and culminated the month with our favourite club in Peterborough.
For those who we didn’t get to see in December because of our workload, we both hope you all had a fabulous Christmas. It was a month of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas. The Icing on the Cake for us both was New Year ’s Eve and here’s a picture of the venue in Colchester – who have already booked us for NYE 2016 – bookings being taken now for 2017!! Happy New Year everyone X
Our van was hard at work again and we were flying around all over the place, but the one gig that stood out for us was in Hitchin and we both hope to see you all again very soon. Better get some rest as December’s on its way
Back to business and hello Maidstone you were fab as always and we look forward to seeing you all again in April 2016. A great night was had by all in Cambridge. Then back to Essex to celebrate a very special birthday but both are jaws dropped when Robert told us his age – but it is a closely guarded secret!! And neither of us will ever forget Halloween………..
Well the kids are back to school and the phone is ringing again…. Again we are busy, but the one gig that stood out for us was a wedding for Fred and Christine in St.Ives and here is a picture of their very sweet and unusual wedding cake………….
Always a funny month, and as we are purely a function based act, you are either busy with weddings or not much else as the children are now on holiday and the freemasons shut down for the summer, so we use this month to service, repair and replace equipment and rejuvenate our material. August bank holiday weekend saw us celebrating somebody’s special birthday though!! But look out, September’s coming………….
OK who turned the thermostat up this is ridiculous!! – our van has an outside temperature gauge and on the way to North Norfolk it hit 30 degrees and then flashed error as the temperature outside was hotter than our van could cope with and even worse when you hit a traffic jam – oh when will it snow? Another busy month, this time Hunstanton, Bishops Stortford and finishing off at our favourite bowls club in Essex XX
OMG it’s been hot and this is not good for musicians, especially when you don’t have roadies. Crossing many county boundaries yet again, ending in Norfolk to one of our favourite venues to celebrate Armed Forces day.
Goodness, where did May go. Many gigs this month and areas covered were Kings Lynn, Aldeburgh, Peterborough, Hockley and up to Coventry to name but a few. Better get the van serviced as next month looks even busier!
Easter has arrived and for us that means travelling – we had a great night in Maidstone and several others which we don’t need to mention – you know who you are. We had a fabulous evening locally again, for the Holland-on-Sea masonic lodge and managed to obtain two lovely testimonials for you to read. See you soon..
"Wedding party in a Bedouin Tent…. Electric, that’s how I describe Louise and Graham, making the evening in our garden feel like a festival of the sixties music that we requested. Keeping the dance area alive, with 40 to 70 year olds enjoying every moment. We really enjoyed Louise and Graham who have been working together for 23 years and are still as fresh, bubbly and sensitive, feeling the mood. Everyone without exception enjoyed their voices and music – 1st Class. I am willing to talk to anyone considering hiring you at any time. We wish you well, you made our day

"Hi Louise and Graham,
Thank you so much for a wonderful performance, you were the highlight of my ladies night, you worked hard to get everyone dancing, your setup was stunning and you were both such amazing people, marks out of 10, 11+. Please feel free to use this as a recommendation – every word was meant.
If my daughter ever decides to get married, I will book you, you now have a groupie!

“ Louise and Graham are professional in every respect. They are unbelievably versatile and are anxious to give you exactly what you require. We felt they were genuinely interested in our party. The dance floor was full the whole evening and we would not hesitate to recommend them for any event. I saw several people asking for their business card.
Having looked at your flyer my testimonial duplicates all that has already been said about you! I am sorry about that but it is obviously genuine and true,"
best wishes Christine. "

“ Thank you for the receipt for monies paid for our Dinner Dance. The evening was enjoyed by everyone with a good mixture of music for our age group. It was a pleasure to deal with you, everything being done very professionally from the contract to the evening itself. Once again many thanks "
The Ladies Over 20’s Club
“Many thanks for making our party a great success. You are both very talented singers and musicians and we had many people ask us where we found you. My husband was a bit apprehensive when I told him we were not having a disco for the party but as soon as you started singing he congratulated me on making the perfect choice. I would definitely recommend you for any occasion. Once again thank you so much"

“Just said goodbye to our house guests and wanted to thank you both for the entertainment that you provided last Saturday at Wroxham for my 60th birthday party. We loved your background set up and appreciate all your efforts. We are aware that Wroxham Lodge is not as grand as the one at Great Yarmouth but when we arrived the dining room had been transformed and looked fantastic. You said yourselves that the warm welcome you received far made up for it. The variety of music provided was just right, feedback and thank you emails and cards have been very positive. Colin and I would like to thank you and wish you all the very best for your future in the business."

“Thank you Louise and Graham for a very memorable 'Last Night on the Titanic' themed President's Night for Thorpe Bay Rotary Club. What a wonderful evening you pulled together, providing the background "string quartet" through the meal and a lovely range of dance music for the rest of the evening. It was very special hearing your personal connections (Lou's Great Grandmother was a Stewardess on the Titanic).
I had numerous comments from people saying how much they had really enjoyed the evening, so, a huge thank you to you both. You were delightful to work with, even when the agreed setting up plan was not able to proceed quite as scheduled!
I have another Night to arrange for next year lets book up now!"

“Please accept my thanks for putting on an excellent show on the February 2015. Having organised a number of Dinner Dances for our club, I have to say you have set the benchmark.
The music was pitched just right and coupled with the special effects ensured the dance floor was in full swing after dinner.
Our President was so impressed that he booked you on the spot for our President Day Dinner this July.
Once again, many thanks for putting on a very professional and polished performance."
“Louise and Graham
We met last night at the masonic do at East Grinstead and many congratulations on a superb and highly professional performance. It was exactly what was needed to get people on the dance floor, something which is often difficult to do with an older crowd that are not as nimble on the feet as they used to be. I only wished you had been able to play for longer. It was a delight to work with you and it will be a pleasure to recommend you whenever I can."
